ABOUT
My name is Caroline Allen and I have the best job in the world. Photography has been an outlet for me since before I can remember, but my passion turned into a business when I was thirteen. During my eighth grade year I got the opportunity to live in Gulu, a small town in Northern Uganda. My family moved there to work with an organization, International Justice Mission, which fights for widow's land rights and against domestic violence. I was gifted a camera right before the move and an ex-pat family in Gulu heard that I loved photography. They reached out and asked if I could shoot some family photos for a newsletter they had to send home. After that initial shoot, I ended up photographing almost every ex-pat family in Gulu. Ever since then, I have been capturing families, seniors, couples and everything in between.
I am a full time student at Rhodes College, so my business operates out of two cities in Tennessee, Nashville and Memphis. I will happily travel back and forth between the two per request! When I'm not taking photos, I can be found reading excessive amounts of literature for my English major, hanging out with my dog Gus or baking my famous chocolate chip cookies. While I love and mainly use digital cameras for clients, most of my personal life is captured on film. Film is quickly becoming my preferred medium.
I am honored you chose to visit this site. I hope that you choose to have me capture whatever bit of life you feel is important!
Love,
Caroline
